HOMECOMING GAME & SENIOR NIGHT!
Congratulations to the Gahr Marching Gladiators on a fantastic performance at the Mayfair Monsoon Classic! Gahr took 1st place in Division 6A and overall Tournament Sweepstakes. We would like to thank all the parents and alumni who helped throughout the day – with everything from props, equipment, transportation, uniforms, food, and so much more. The students would not be able to do this without you. Please click here to sign up to volunteer at the game on Friday and for lunch at our last Saturday practice.
We have a busy week ahead with the Homecoming Game and Senior Night this Friday 10/25. We have our last Saturday rehearsal from 8:30AM-3:30PM to finish learning the rest of the show. Make sure you’re staying on top of your homework, continue hydrating, wash your hands, and stay healthy.
HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME & SENIOR NIGHT THIS FRIDAY 10/25
This Friday 10/25 is our Homecoming Football Game! It is also “Senior Night” where the school recognizes the students in football, cheer, and band. Seniors are typically escorted by their parents/guardians as their name is called. ALL PARENTS/GUARDIANS AND SENIORS SHOULD BE AT THE STADIUM TRACK AT 5:45PM (in alphabetical order by LAST NAME).
Students will run pep tunes and cadences at 5:00PM, then head into the stadium to support our band and color guard seniors for SENIOR NIGHT! After that, we will play the National Anthem, and the game will begin at 7:00PM.
We are planning to have front ensemble, battery, and color guard students help push back props and equipment after the halftime performance. Pep band (winds and rhythm section) will stay until the end of the game to support our football team.
STUDENTS: PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN DINNER OR MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO EAT DURING THE BREAK. At 4:45PM, EVERYONE will be changing into FULL UNIFORM — so make sure you bring your black sleeveless compression top, black compression shorts, LONG BLACK SOCKS, and your black marching shoes. Color Guard students need to bring everything for full costume/hair/make up.
PARENTS: We need parent help at the game to sell concessions, merchandise, and to help push equipment/props at halftime. Wear your 2024 “KUBRICK” T-Shirt and get in FREE to the game when you volunteer. Please click here to sign up to volunteer.
GAHR INVITATIONAL FIELD SHOW JUST THREE WEEKS AWAY!
Thank you so much to all the parents who came to last week’s Gahr Invitational committee meeting! We have a MANDATORY Gahr Invitational Parent Meeting on Wednesday, November 6th at 6:30PM in Gahr HS Stadium. We are asking for all students to donate soda, water, or baked goods. Please check the list below, broken up by section. Donations can be dropped off to Mr. Loney in the Band Room.
IF YOU HAVEN’T SIGNED UP FOR A SHIFT YET, PLEASE CLICK HERE. The Gahr Invitational is the biggest fundraising event of the year, and we need all hands on deck to make it a success. We are counting on all families to volunteer at the Gahr Invitational Field Tournament on Saturday, November 9th, as this event cannot happen without your help. Thank you, and we’re looking forward to an amazing field show tournament!
SNAP RAISE UPDATE – We’ve now raised over $20,000 towards student accounts through Snap Raise! There is only ONE DAY LEFT!! This is a great way to help pay for outstanding donations, our WBA Championships trip to Fresno, or get a head start on donations for Winter Guard or Indoor Percussion.
ALL DONATIONS PAST DUE – The last donation of $150 was due Friday, October 18th. AT THIS POINT, ALL DONATIONS ARE PAST DUE. We accept checks made payable to “Gahr Band Boosters,” cash, or you can pay online with a credit card. This is super important so that we are able to pay our instructional staff and continue to pay for production costs. All students must be caught up with donations to participate in the WBA Championships trip.
If you are a part of the 605 All-Star Band, please make sure you’re caught up with your final payment. This will be covering everything for the Rose Parade, including your ticket to perform at Disneyland. Our next rehearsal is Sunday, November 10th at Bellflower High School.
